Scenario Information

Case Summary:

3 yr old boy brought by parents. Found extremely sleepy after dinner, slumped over on couch, minimally responsive. No fever, no antecedent illness; previously well. No allergies, no medication needs. “He looked warm, and his heart was beating fast – does he have meningitis?” Upon arrival in the ED, you are asked to see the child immediately.

Case Summary:

5 yr old boy was helping his dad to do some minor repairs and maintenance on family car. He drank from what he thought was cordial container, inadvertently ingesting up to 50ml of radiator coolant containing 95% ethylene glycol. It took 3 hours to arrive to the ER

Case Summary:

5 year old boy, brought by EMS from his home. He has been unwell just this morning with restlessness, nausea, emesis and abdominal pain, had one episode of diarrhea. His parents report that he has been more restless and difficult to settle earlier this morning but has been quieter and less with it since.
Upon arrival: you are asked to see the child immediately.
